Pakistan has to pay nearly $3bn within next three months to foreign creditors. The foreign exchanage reserves of the country have depleted and are barely sufficient for one month's import bill. It is said that the foreign exchange reserve of the country presently stand at nearly $8bn of which nearly $4bn is being held by commercial banks. This makes the situation very grim. If Pakistan could not get new loans from international donors and lending agencies, it may find it difficult to pay back the loan on time.
A consortium by the name of Friends of Pakistan had been formed during Zardari's visit to United States. I do not see any sincere effort on the part of friendly Muslim countries to rescue Pakistan from its financial crisis. It is said that Saudi Arabia has refused to supply oil on deferred payments. Saudi Arabia did not even participate the first meeting of Friends of Pakistan in USA.
The government has been forced to lower the oil reserves from 21 days to 10 days in order to check the outflow of dollar. This is not a good sign. It can be very dangerous to lower the strategic oil reserves.
I am of the opinion that only Pakistanis can take their countries out of the crisis which it is facing today. It is said that Pakistani have more than $100bn dollars. If they could only send $10 dollars to the country, most of the current problems of the country will be solved. Pakistani must also force their leadership to behave and attend to the problems of the country themselves, instead of looking at US, UK or Saudi Arabia. I do not mean that we should cut off completely from the rest of the world. We should only learn to live like a nation.

Another suicide attack in Pakistan
Another suicide bomb blast has occurred in Pakistan. This time the blast has occurred at the residence of an MNA of Pakistan Muslim League – N. According to reports more than 25 people have been killed and scores injured. The political leadership in the country has as usual given stupid statements condemning the attack. We are a confused nation. We have been living in confusion ever since independence of the country in 1947. We have not yet decided whether Pakistan is an Islamic country or it is a country where people from all faith can live peacefully. In all these years we have not been able to decide about the medium of instruction in our educational institutions. The other big confusion nowadays which has gripped the entire nation is whether the war on terror is our war at all? So many people have been killed and we are still being told by our worthy politicians that it is not our war? If it is not our war then why so many people are being killed in suicide bomb attacks?

Zardari arrives back after flirting with Sarah Palin
PPP co-chairman and widower of Benazir Bhutto has arrived back home after pleading with the United Nations General Assembly to provide justice to him and his children. When he was speaking he forgot that he was not the husband of his wife and the father of his children. He was suppose to address the assembly as President of Pakistan but he waved the photo of his wife, which I think he always carries with him, and begged the world for justice.

Marriott bomb blast video
The world is not safe. We are always hearing about terrorism related incidents in which a number of people are killed. A few days ago a deadly suicide bomb attack took place at Marriott Hotel in Islamabad in which a truck laden with large quantity of explosives rammed into security barrier. If we have to fight against these elements we must be adequately prepared.
The video released after the attack was of very poor quality and did not show anything clearly. If a digital security camera had been used for surveillance of the area, the video obtained would have been very clear. Besides these incidents a large number of crimes can be detected with the help of proper surveillance equipments.
ITPlanet has complete solutions for security problems of businesses and companies. They have a various equipments such as security cameras which can be used for enhancing security. They have wireless security cameras as well which are easy to install.

Security high alert at airports in Pakistan
Security has been heightened at Islamabad and Karachi airports after receiving threat of suicide attacks. People coming at the airports are being thoroughly checked in order to avoid any incident. According to TV news passengers are being asked to take off their shoes, belts and watches before allowing them in the departure lounge. Vehicles coming at the airport are also being searched.
A few months back I was traveling to Bangladesh to attend a conference. It took a lot of time to pass through the security. It is very irritating but what else can be done?

Amir Liaquat Hussain on Ahmedis
I had written this post based upon a letter published in Dawn on 20th September. It said that Aamir Liaquat Hussain incited people to kill Ahmadis without fear. At the time of writing the post I had not seen the programme myself. I have now seen the entire programme on YouTube and now I feel that at no time he said anything to incite people to kill Ahmadis.
Please see the following two clips.
Part 1.
Part 2.
The letter said that Aamir Liaquat Hussain repeatedly urged that Ahmadis should be killed.
Dr Amir urged fundamentalist Muslims to kill without fear, and this statement was repeated by him and two other Islamic scholars several times during a popular television show.I have not deleted the original post which is retained completely below. If any part from the programme is missing in which he incited killings of Ahmadis, then kindly let me know.
Aamir Liaquat Hussain has declared in his programme “Alim Online” that members of Ahmedi sect should be put to death. The Ahmedis were declared non-Muslims by the government of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto after an uprising in 1970s.
The programme was aired on September 7 in which the former Minister of State for religious affairs urged people to kill Ahmedis without fear. This statement was repeated by him and the other two scholars during the programme.
Amir Liaquat Hussain was expelled from his party nearly one and half years ago and he was asked to resign from the ministry. In his anger he not only resigned as minister but also resigned from his seat in the National Assembly.
Amir Liaquat prefers to call himself Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain, even though he does not hold a Ph. D. degree. He was a student at Liaquat Medical University where he did not complete his course. He obtained degrees from some online universities which were not recognized by the University Grants Commission of Pakistan. His documents were challenged in the National Assembly by Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and he could not come up with a proper reply.
He does not hold any religious degree as well. He does not know Quran and certainly does not have knowledge of Islamic Jurisprudence. Despite this lack of knowledge he has considerable viewership of his programme which speaks volumes about the dearth of religious knowledge in general public. Sphere: Related Content

Bomb blast at Marriott Hotel Islamabad
It is said that two trucks with large quantity of explosive materials were used in the attack. The explosion was so severe that its report was heard throughout Islamabad.
The explosion is a clear reminder of the fact that Pakistan is in the grip of Taliban and militants who can strike at their will. The hotel building was located in high security zone but this did not deter the militants to carry out their nefarious design.
I think that the government of Pakistan must formulate a clear cut policy against militants and start a ruthless operation against them. The half hearted approach so far has only compounded the problem.
